Idol 2008 (Auditions)
Idol 2008 is the music and dance competition for singers, vocal groups, dancers and dance groups to enter. The competition offers the competitors the opportunity to perform live in front of large audiences as well as the chance to win up to £25,000 in prizes. Register, audition and compete and you will be offered fantastic opportunities to not only develop performance skills and personal ability, but to expose your talent. The latter stages of the competition provide competitors with the opportunity to impress the judges and many guests from record labels, agencies and the entertainment industry. 2007 was the competitions third year, growing from a regional competition for the South coast into a national competition, with over 10,000 applicants entering. This makes the competition the largest talent contest outside a certain ITV show. The 2007 competition was broadcasted on ITV (go to the home page to see the ITV coverage). The competition has two age categories; Under 18 and 18 and over. Both singers and (for the first time) dancers are invited to enter Idol 2008, these are two separate categories within the overall competition. Competitors in both categories will be given the opportunity to progress to the Live shows, National final and compete to be Idol 2008. All other relevant information concerning the auditions, including your audition time, will be e-mailed direct (within 14 days) on confirmation of your entry – as stated above. All audition dates above are for both under 18 & 18 & over age categories. Throughout the day there will be auditions for both the singing and dancing competition categories. These are two separate categories within the overall competition. However, if competitors are both a singer and a dancer they are allowed to enter both categories but you must complete separate applications for both categories as indicated above. On the day of the audition you will be asked to prepare a performance of up to 2 minutes long in front of a professional judging panel. Upon entry each contestant will be allocated an audition time which will reduce waiting times for competitors. If you arrive half an hour before your audition time, we will aim to complete your audition and result within the hour of your allocated time. The splitting of the competitors throughout the day should also mean you can queue indoors and not in the cold. The audition can be a song (in the case of vocalist’s) or dance (in the case of single dancers or dance groups) of the contestant’s choice in any style or genre, in the case of vocalists it can be their own or a cover song.
If successful at auditions the judges will select you along with the other best competitors to go through to compete in the regional finals in the same town or city for a place in the Idol 2008 National Grand final. No comments:
